If you’ve made it this far while sticking strictly to your HCG diet plan and not having had to do a reset of the diet, then you deserve a pat on the back. We know that following any diet plan is not an easy thing to do, but by now you should be seeing some pretty good results, which most often serves as its own encouragement to stay the course.
By the time you reach the HCG diet Phase 4, your weight should have become stabilized, and your increased metabolism maintained. Now it’s time to start adding a few things back into your diet that so far have been left out, such as sugars and starches. As strange as this may sound, it’s a good idea to do this so that your body can start learning to burn away the excess fats that are now coming in.
Along with the above though, the best thing to come through HCG Phase 4 is your own knowledge of a healthy diet. Although you won’t need to stick with such a strict diet regime as you did during the previous phases, you will now have a very good idea on how to maintain a healthy diet.
What You Should Do in Phase 4 of the HCG Diet
Let’s talk about some specifics. As we said above, you can now start taking in some sugars and starches that you have previously left out of your diet. Like in the previous phase, in Phase 4 HCG will no longer need to be taken into your body. Instead, your body should now be used to its own naturally increased metabolism, and it should also be trained to burn away excess fats that may be introduced into your diet.
You will want to add in sugars and starches so that your body can become used to them, and learn how to safely burn them away. Your HCG Phase 4 food list should now include things like bread, and some desserts. The best thing to do is to add these in slowly. What we would suggest is maybe adding a small serving of bread into each meal, and also adding in something like a chocolate bar for dessert after lunch or dinner. Keep it small, though, as you don’t want to fall back into your old eating habits from before you started HCG Phase 4.
HCG Phase 4 recipes can also include some things such as dressings or seasonings that were previously avoided due to their addition of sugar. If you’re not sure about what to use for your HCG Phase 4 recipes, just think of what you had in Phases 2 and 3, but now with the addition of small amounts of the foods that were previously avoided. The HCG Phase 4 food list isn’t complicated or strict. How, it just comes down to common dieting sense.
A few other things to do during Phase 4 HCG should be to continue monitoring your weight to make sure that it has completely stabilized and that you are maintaining yourself at your desired weight, and to continue your exercise program from Phase 3. Maybe increasing your exercise load a little at a time, such as adding another 5 to 10 minutes to your exercise routine would be a good idea. Exercise is an important activity for one’s overall health, so this is a very good habit to maintain during HCG diet Phase 4!
Issues that must be avoided
Fortunately for you, there is little more for us to tell you that will be any kind of a shock. By now, you will have learned how to start and maintain a healthy diet, and you should have started a regular exercise program.
However, there are still a few things that you need to remember. The most important thing is to avoid falling back into your old eating habits. The last thing you want to do at this point is to start gaining all of the weight back that you worked so hard to lose, so make sure that you maintain the healthy eating habits that you’ve learned up until now. Don’t go on any eating binges, stay away from excess portions of sugars and starches, and you should be good to go.
Also, make sure you keep up with your exercise! This will go a long way not only to maintaining your desired weight, but also for maintaining your overall health. Anything that helps increase your strength, endurance, and cardio is good for your quality of life.
All in all, you’ve done an excellent job to come this far, and you have a lot to be proud of. Just maintain your new healthier habits, and you’ll have all the reason in the world to be happy!
